As you may already know, The WPPI Awards are one of the biggest and my personal favourite of all the print awards. Having been involved in judging, competitions and the overall attendance for the last 7 years running – it truly is the biggest in the world for wedding, family and newborn photographers. And it gets bigger every year! This year was the biggest yet and flying into Las Vegas is always a pretty intense experience for us all.
It was 5 intense days of workshops, speaking and judging for me, all the while keeping one eye open to the images I placed into the competition myself. I am very fortunate to have the best team and husband in the world by my side through all this and we came out with a very humbling 4 awards – as well as the Bill Hurter Excellence Award which goes to the highest point scorer overall.

Here is a snippet of the press release:
“Queensland’s best portrait photographer cleans up at international awards. Australia’s newborn & children’s photographer Kelly Brown has taken home an array of awards from this year’s international WPPI held in Las Vegas yesterday. The prestigious live print, album and filmmaking competition is the biggest of the year for portrait photographers with more than 10,000 attendees over a 3 day event with trade shows and the biggest names in photography.”
